HOMEWORK #6
Hobbes would not have agreed to a social contrant because according to hobbes only the government can help them. So they would disagree in it because the poeple arent going to make the decisions the government makes the decision for the others. In locke's world they would agree for a social contract because in lock's world the government exists witht he consent of the people. And thats what a social contract is when the poeple give the government the right to govern. I think that locke's world has a better government and better establishment of the social contract. Because really in lock'es world people get to be born free and born with certain rights but thats better than having evil people and poeple need to be controlled in hobbe's world.

I agree with you that Lockes world is better because locke understands that we are rational and are good. As for Hobbes, he thinks everyone is evil and greedy and just wants what it best for their self interest. What drives people to form government is fear. The only way that someone can be saved is by forming a government to protect them. Hobbes wants a king to be the head of the government he was someone who has complete control over the people who are not rational.
